Lady

Approximate Age: 3 years

Breed (our best guess): German Shepherd

Basic Stats:

Lady

Cuddly girl!

Adoption needs: Lady just needs a family who will love her.

Fun Fact: Lady just loves everyone and loves to cuddle.

Lady’s Story: Lady came to us from a local shelter. They kept her longer than they usually do because they thought she was pregnant, but now it appears she’s just fat! No WAIT—She had 7 puppies and they all were adopted. In fact Lady was also adopted around the beginning of August. We know she is enjoying her new family.

Duke

Approximate Age: 2 years

Breed (our best guess): German Shepherd Mix

Adoption needs: Deserves lots of attention and needs to be somewhere that he can roam (like a farm) because he can jump fences. Duke would prefer to be the only dog in his family.

Duke

Sweet Duke

Fun Fact: He likes to come and lay his head in your lap for attention

Duke’s Story: Duke was one of eight puppies from a beautiful German shepherd–our first rescue. He was adopted to a lady in Omaha who brought him back because he kept jumping her fence and she couldn’t keep him in. He was very, very sad for months when he was returned. He’s just starting to come out of his shell again.

Copper

Approximate Age: 12 years

Breed (our best guess): Chesapeake Bay/Labrador Retriever

Copper

Copper following one of the girls around

Adoption needs: Copper needs someone who will play with him and who is strong enough to control him.

Fun Fact: Copper loves to hunt and play ball.

Story: Copper’s owners moved away and couldn’t afford to take him with them. We believe he was a hunting dog at some point. He loves to retrieve and is very strong. We don’t think he likes cats very much. Update: Copper is fat–he needs more exercise–or a smaller feed bowl. He loves people and would make a great dog for one person or a couple who have time for a senior dog. He still has some years left in him. Don’t give up on him yet.

Butch

Breed (our best guess): Husky/German Shepherd

Butch

Butch following me around while I took pictures

Adoption needs: Butch is currently on hold because he struggles to keep weight on and one eye is very red.Well, we couldn’t help it—we adopted Butch ourselves! He is one very smart guy and enjoys hanging out with Chuck, whether in the pickup, the mule 4 wheeler, or just walking around the farm. He is too good to let go. But hope you enjoy the pictures.

Fun Fact: Butch is a people person! He “talks” to us when he wants special treats. He also loves to ride in the pickup!

Butch’s Story: We got Butch from a nearby Animal Control Shelter. He was going to be euthanized. We chose him to come and stay at our rescue.

Bertha

Approximate Age: 8 months

Breed (our best guess): Lab Mix

Bertha

Adoption needs: Bertha needs a family who will love her and play with her.

Fun Fact: Bertha loves kids! She’ll take any attention she can get.

Bertha’s Story: Bertha came to us from a local shelter. Her sister is Sheila–(yes she is) and they are such a pair. She is a little shyer than Sheila, but that doesn’t stop her from wanting to hang out with people and other doggies. If you are looking for a sweet companion that has been spayed–than Bertha may be JUST FOR YOU!

Baby

Approximate Age: 5 years

Breed (our best guess): Yellow Labrador Retriever

Adoption needs: Not adoptable due to severe separation anxiety.

Fun Fact: She loves the other dogs and is very kind to them.

Baby’s Story: Baby was found wandering on a highway. We were never able to locate a family, so we think she may have been abandoned. We tried to adopt her out, but her separation anxiety was too severe. She came home to us, where she felt safe.
