Speaking of Lucky—is he really lucky???

Lucky is still at 12 Hills and we are wondering why. He is so pretty, has a great personality and loves people.  Lucky had a rough start as a baby, but pulled through a bout with dehydration and parvo.  He has been neutered–had all his vaccinations and ready for a family. He weighs around 75#. He is brindle in color and has a coat that feels like silk.  He doesn’t seem to shed like some of the others,  Image

If you are looking for a great dog and like Lab mixes  Lucky may be just the right do for you family.

The big boy finally has had a chance to prove himself, and did he ever! 

Sarge came to us a few months ago. He is a gorgeous Red Australian Shepherd/Akita mix.  Was surprises us is his sweet personality.  He doesn’t push his weight around with the other dogs, but is good with everyone.  He even likes to play with Peaches our pittie. 

What was really the best test of all is when he climbed up on the bench beside a 10 year old girl this weekend. He snuggled with her and laid his head or her shoulder.  We knew he was a great dog, but didn’t realize that he loved kids. 

Sarge has been neutered and had all his vaccinations, and weighs around 75#. He needs to run off some of the weight he gained over the winter months. ImageHe is ready for a family with kids or without—Just needs space to run and play and someone to love him the way he should be loved.

He is just a great dog and we are hoping he gets the chance to prove it to a loving family soon.

 

Spray Away–Chuck!

This warm weather gave us a perfect opportunity to spray the doggies at 12 Hills.  It seems that as the weather warms the dogs are beginning to shed and scratch.  Just to be on the safe side we thought a day of spraying (to kill any critters) was in order.  Of course, everyone was indignant about this wonderful opportunity.  But they soon dried off and were rolling in the dirt again. We had some volunteers come on Saturday and many received a good brushing out.  Big Andy was brushed, but has lots more to shed—oh, right, that’s another story.ImageLucky–and Gizmo  are not happy.Image

So, maybe the next step will be baths to get off the dirt that they rolled in.
